Mary has asked me to say a huge thanks to you all for your good wishes and prayers. She was going to post last night but found she couldn't access the forum. Her membership runs out today, so maybe NRAS were a bit quick off the mark in removing her name.
I've tried to persuade her to stay with us as she freely admits that she needs support right now. Let's keep our fingers crossed that she has a change of heart.
She is feeling much the same today but I'll keep you updated.
Love Janxxxx

Please give her my love, and I am thinking of her.

Oh, poor Mary! How much more does she have to put up with? It all sounds very alarming, and I hope she gets some better news quickly. Thoughts and prayers, Kathleen x

I just cannot believe this! Mary has been suffering quietly for such a long time . I am so relieved that she is now being treated and hope to goodness that it disperses without further ado.

Hi Everyone,
Mary is going to hospital again this morning, as her leg, far from improving, is now even worse. It is so hot she had to have a shower to cool it down and the swelling is moving up her leg. It now hurts so much she can't bear for it to be touched. Needless to say she is very frightened and Richard is taking her down to A & E. Please, if you pray, say a prayer for her this morning. Much love Jeanxxxxx

This is terrible - I hope Mary gets some help today. Am thinking of her and keeping everything crossed for some kind of proper treatment.

Mary is home but exhausted and her leg is still untreated.
She has an appointment for another scan tomorrow am and then, hopefully, they will decide to bust the DVT with a laser.
This afternoon, she had a rheummy appointment. After 8 weeks of "is it RA or is it MS causing the swelling", and passing her from department to department and back again, they have now decided the initial swelling was caused by the RA - and of course, you will all remember 6 weeks ago it was definitely the MS. What can she believe any more? Anyway, thank God she is having another scan tomorrow.
Love to you all

How ridiculous is that? Do they really think that now is the time to be "passing the buck"? As far as I'm aware neither RA nor MS cause DVTs! It's quite possibly of unknown origin or something entirely separate. They should be treating the condition as it presents at this point in time not wondering on events of the previous 8 weeks, there will be time to analyse later. If it is indeed a DVT, as would be suggested by the fact that 'something' presumably a clot was found on the scan, why for goodness sake don't they get it treated immediately? Whilst they are doing nothing there's every chance it could split and disappear off into any direction. Poor Mary and how very worrying to be at the end of this sort of unsatisfactory service. I hope tomorrow's scan will bring news followed very promptly by suitable treatment. Mary should be in a hospital bed being monitored not sent home exhausted and sick with worry. Jean, please would you pass on my very best wishes to Mary? She is in my thoughts and hope to hear better news of her very soon. Lyn x PS Sorry if my tone offends, had it up to my eyes with the bureaucracy of the inadequate NHS today!! I'm not always like this!!

It is just awful! i thought it was now dx as a DVT? So confusing!
I cannot believe Mary has been left for so long and even now is not a priority in hospital!
Please keep sending her our love,
Amanda

I think the safest place for Mary tonight would have been in a hospital bed, with emergency treatment close by; not worrying herself sick and hoping for progress tomorrow. Unbelievable. More prayers for Mary, Kathleen x
